Hi! Welcome to Max Out Happy. I’m Julia – wife, mom to Davis and 3 ridiculous dogs, high school teacher, and amateur blogger! Max Out Happy is a long-time dream of mine that was always a far-off, “someday” idea until I began my yoga teacher training in 2015 and just decided to take a leap out of my comfort zone and do it. One of my favorite quotes says, “Leap, and the net will appear.” So that’s what I did, and even though I’ve left the blog and picked it back up multiple times since then, I’m still here. Still vibin’ on happiness and trying to share some with everyone else.
I have a huge passion for people and animals (especially dogs), and I also love food, music, coffee, wine, and words. I love to stay busy and productive, but I also love relaxing weekends and nights in at home with my husband Andrew and our one-year-old son, Davis (and our crazy 4-legged children).
Like most gals, I dabble a bit in makeup, hair, and fashion, but I also love being in my soft clothes. Family and friends are everything to me, and I love helping people and spreading joy – I’m big on notes, gifts, and affection. I love finding any excuse to make a huge deal out of an event: birthday, holiday, new job, promotion, graduation…come to think of it, even a good hair day deserves a celebration in my book! I’m here to celebrate the big things, but also the little events that make life just a bit happier.
I am an optimist and believe in actively choosing happiness until it sticks. It’s not always easy, and it doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but I believe in working to max out your happy – whatever that may be for you. You’ll figure out the rest later, but feel free to contact me or follow me on my social media accounts to stay connected! This blog is my happy place, and I hope you’ll find some brightness here, too.
